This day in history - 17:12:1001.3

17:12:1001.3 On this day it was recorded that the Great Library of Gurdendorf was burnt to the ground.  In it resided most of the collected knowledge and histories of the Gurden people.  In that one day, the Kingdom lost more knowledge and practical understanding of the world than at any time in their history.  It is said the great philosopher Arstole threw himself onto the flames and perished alongside the original copy of the Rights of Citizenship, after the full horror of the events became apparent.  It is also claimed, it was his carelessly thrown cigarette butt that started the fire.  To this day people still answer the question of “who started the Great Library fire” with the answer, “Oh, just some Arstole.”
